Having built a massive fanbase over the years, Lotus tours heavily selling out headline shows across the county and playing festivals such as Electric Forest, Imagine Music Fest, Camp Bisco, and more. Whether you catch Lotus in outdoor amphitheaters, the country’s best theaters, intimate clubs or a variety of festivals, you can expect to have an experience of the senses. The band's new album, Eat the Light, is a first for Lotus - an album with vocals on every song. Guest singers appear throughout ranging from soulful to indie and electronic to rock. The tracks bubble with contagious dance energy and blast into orbit with sing-along choruses. The tightly produced yet raw grooves recall sounds of The Talking Heads, Jamiroquai, and LCD Soundsystem.
MINKA is a dance band. They live, breathe, and procreate in Philadelphia. They will play your roof or basement, warehouse or venue. They will play the bottom of your swimming pool. Dick Rubin, leader of the band, has been known to perform fully nude.

Hedonism – the pursuit of earthly pleasures – lies at the very core of what MINKA is about.

At a MINKA event, followers abandon social convention and allow their true selves to emerge.

The band’s music highlights the following ethos:
• Resist conforming to the routine society wants you to follow. • Forge a new path.
• Tap into your primal nature. Return to the source of true human satisfaction.
• Embrace paranoia about the technological systems that regulate modern existence.
• Express yourself without reservation – verbally, artistically, sexually.
• Join the community. MINKA is a welcoming tribe.

MINKA has played The Foundry, Underground Arts, Johnny Brenda’s, and Boot & Saddle, among other Philadelphia venues. The group has also played over 100 house parties in Philly over the last 18 months. They have performed with acts including Andrew WK, Protomen, West Philly Orchestra, Escort, Chappo, and Superhuman Happiness. MINKA has been featured by yvynyl, WXPN, Philadelphia Weekly, philly.com, JUMP Magazine, and Philebrity. The band records with producer Brian McTear of Miner Street Recordings. They will be releasing their new EP Born in the Viper Room on May 26, 2017.
