Municipal Waste
Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Municipal Waste are the reigning kings of the New Wave of Crossover. Municipal Waste deliver blazing fast, raw thrash-core in the tradition of DRI, Suicidal Tendencies, "Animosity"-era Corrosion Of Conformity, Nuclear Assault and Attitude Adjustment. All barely in their 20's, the members of Municipal Waste inject youthful energy and humor into a classic genre they were too young to catch the first time around.
With a self-titled EP on Amendment Records, an LP entitled "Waste 'Em All" on Six Weeks Records, and several splits and comps under their belts, Municipal Waste have quickly established themselves as the leaders of a fast-growing scene of bands resurrecting the spirit of the mid-80's Crossover scene.
Fast, furious, and funny, each of Municipal Waste's super-short songs is a memorable anthem to post-apocalyptic mutants, beer, thrash music, or all of the above. The band's dedication is deadly serious yet they are not afraid to bring the fun back into hardcore. Bashing out songs with such titles as "Thrashing's My Business And Business Is Good", "Thrash? Don't Mind If I Do", and "Drunk As Shit", (as well as a split EP whose songs were all based on Kurt Russell films), Muncipal Waste have earned themselves the tag of "party thrash".
Rumors of Municipal Waste's awesome live shows have spread from coast to coast and across the world; the band departs on their first European tour this month. Upon their return to the states, Municipal Waste will begin work on their Earache debut.

Corrosion Of Conformity
Founded by three teenagers in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1982, Corrosion of Conformity began as an underground band and went on to transform heavy music, challenging boundaries and serving as what Decibel Magazine called “a crucial stylistic lynchpin in the bridge between metal and punk” that “irrevocably reshaped crossover’s sonic possibilities.”
Thirty years and many changes later, COC’s original trio is back with a self-titled release for London-based independent Candlelight Records.
“Corrosion of Conformity isn’t a comeback album or an example of diminishing returns,” Invisible Oranges observed. “It’s a testament to immense talent and the elusive endowment of staying power.”
In the summer of 2010, COC’s founding members—bassist/vocalist Mike Dean, drummer/vocalist Reed Mullin and guitarist Woody Weatherman—gathered at Weatherman’s farm in Virginia to get to work again after a five-year hiatus. With longtime vocalist/guitarist Pepper Keenan busy working with metal supergroup Down back home in New Orleans, COC began playing together as a three-piece for the first time since the mid-1980s.
That’s the same lineup behind 1985’s Animosity, widely considered a crossover classic. While the trio re-visited songs from that album and 1987’s Technocracy, this was not just an exercise in nostalgia, and they soon began writing new material.
The original members of COC are excited to be working together again.
“Mike, Woody and I essentially learned how to play music together and cultivated our own style, sound, and unspoken language,” said Mullin. “Re-bonding with them musically has been the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me.”
Thirty years and many changes later, COC’s original trio is back with a self-titled release for London-based independent Candlelight Records.

Raised in hell, forged by fire and harder than Krupp Steel, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD are about to triumphantly return as one of the biggest defenders of traditional heavy metal with their stunning new album, “Here Waits Thy Doom”! The new opus was tracked in Seattle’s Sound House Recordings with renowned producer Jack Endino (Soundgarden, High on Fire, Zeke) and is soon to be hailed as the gospel of all things heavy.
“Here Waits They Doom” marks the recording debut of extremely talented drummer Ash Pearson that lends a whole new dynamic to the band’s already lethal assault. This disc is also the first offering where Cam Pipes handles all vocal duties with Justin Hagberg adding some backups. Guitarist Shane Clark and Hagberg also laid down all of the bass tracks themselves, ensuring maximum shred on the album. Although the lineup is different, the aesthetic remains the same, and the technical proficiency surpasses that of the last record.
Shane Clark (guitars) states: “Our new album is finished and we've named it “Here Waits Thy Doom”. Much like our last record it is a step beyond the album that precedes it. We've again taken what we do a step further and not made “Fire Up The Blades” part 2, we've stuck to our formula - no formula. We are true metal fans and we've made an unapologetic metal record. I think this our most focused record to date, from writing all the way to mixing there was no unnecessary drama or too many cooks in the kitchen. This is 3 INCHES OF BLOOD at its most punishing, epic and mighty.”
The group kicks off their worldwide touring cycle for “Here Waits Thy Doom” this fall embarking on a massive North American trek with In Flames, Between The Buried and Me and The Faceless. Expect an unrelenting touring campaign to be laid out spanning the course of 2010 and beyond.
Born out of a love for pure metal, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD have been slaying the infidels of extreme music for nearly a decade. In that time, they've released three albums and toured with such acclaimed acts as Satyricon, The Black Dahlia Murder, Motorhead, Cradle of Filth or Exodus, just to name a few. With their last album, “Fire Up the Blades”, they crafted a number of undeniable anthems that crash, rip and roar like a Medieval battleground. With their first album on Century Media Records, “Here Waits Thy Doom”, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD now up the ante and will leave every metal fan crying iron tears of pure joy!
