The Ruby Suns
Best New Music! Faturing members of the Brunettes from New Zealnd. A modern indie DIY approach and the grandiose productions of the 60s and 70s. A six piece band that's like Auckland's take on "Pet Sounds" era Beach Boys, ever so slightly electrofied, given an almost dubby spaciousness, and hitched to lyrics about zebras. Sub Pop Records.
Toro Y Moi
Toro Y Moi is 23-year old Columbia, South Carolina multi-instrumentalist Chaz Bundick. He's been at Toro y Moi in one form or another since 2001, and recently signed to Carpark, who plan to release two full-lengths in 2010. Songs that sound like breezy summer afternoons, kind of like an Animal Collective-via-bedroom J Dilla.
Power Animal
Sparkly pop tunes with unbelievable break beats and bizarre choir sections. Does that make sense? These guys are catchy and terrifying; toe-tapping and confounding. Totally worth seeing as many times as you can!" 6 peice no guitar band. North East Philly n' proud! sort of...not really
