Aesop Rock Show Bumped Up An Hour Early (not on HipHop time)

This Saturday September 8th we are very excited to welcome Aesop Rock as he celebrates the release of his brand new album on Definitive Jux. Aesop will be starting the party off right with his first date of the tour kicking off in Philly.

Unlike every other hiphop show in the history of the world, the opening act - BLOCKHEAD will go on RIGHT AWAY on-time at 8pm. We'll be pushing up doors one hour to 7pm. The show will end right around 10:15pm - so we beg you to please be on time. Just think John Darinelle from the Mountain Goats is on the new album - thus removing Aesop from the weird time warp that every other hiphop artist belongs to, which caused them to show up to every show at least 4 hours late.

You can purchase tickets right below :

Man Man / The Wrens / The A-Sides Unite For Benefit

Philadelphia based, Bottom Of The Hudson were involved in a van wreck On July 29th following a gig in Myrtle Beach, NC that has left bass player Trevor Butler (dead and new drummer Greg Lytle in critical condition after being airlifted to Chapel Hill, NC.

According to guitarist/keyboardist Michael Prince, the group were traveling through Clinton, NC, when a tire blew out and sent the van reeling out of control. The other members of the band - Eli Simon (pictured, at left), William Chesterton Chambers and Prince - sustained mild injuries and were released from the hospital that day.

The group were wrapping up a string of tour dates for their latest album, Fantastic Hawk, when the accident occurred. Since the accident support has poured in for the family of Trevor Butler

Butler's former Coyote bandmates played a benefit a few weeks back, and now comes word that the gentlemen of Man Man, Absolutely Kosher labelmates The Wrens, and Philly combo (and recent Vagrant signees) the A-Sides will team up for a benefit gig at the City of Brotherly Love's First Unitarian Church on September 20. All proceeds from the event will go to Butler's family.

Even if you can't attend the benefits, you can still donate to Trevor's family via Paypal. Donations should be directed to both@absolutelykosher.com

Tickets are on sale now and you are encouraged to buy them in advance as this is likely to sell out.

Our thoughts are prayers are with Trevor and we ask that you please do the same
