Punk Rock Flea Market 2007 Announced - Summer Edition

Finally! After like 2000 e-mails sent in to us. We have finally announced the date of the Summer Edition of The Punk Rock Flea Market. After over 2500 visitors (!) and 100 tables of vendors at the last one, we expect just as many people this time around

All of the proceeds raised will goto the purchase of necessary equipment and supplies to ensure that all ages shows continue to remain a reality at The First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia - mainly the new payment for our new liability insurance policy. This way we do not have to raise ticket proces for our VERY expensive premium.

Do not let the name lead you to believe that it's just punk records, clothes etc. - it's a full on flea market with everything from furniture, to laptops / computers , to stereo equipment, to handmade apparel, to vegan treats, information from various non profit groups, book stores, artists selling their work, bicycles & skateboards and whatever else we can fit onto the ballroom floor at The Starlight Ballroom.

In addition to the normal flea market stuff there will also be a full bar and food service kitchen to make the day go by a little faster.

Sellers can reserve tables now - but please note for the first two weeks - tables can only be reserved for people selling their old possessions.

Pay Attention To The Following Rules :

1) For the first fourteen days (june 4th to june 18th) we are ONLY allowing registration for peoples old "items" / personal possessions etc. If you create, sew, stitch, screen, record, press, print any sort of new item for sale - you must wait till AFTER june 18th. This is to ensure the Flea Market remains "A Flea Market" vs A "Craft Fair". Tricksters we are keeping track of this - and if we find that you are selling scarves and registered before the 14th - we will kick 'ya out! The same applies for record stores, record labels and distros. THE FIRST REGISTRATION PERIOD IF FOR INDIVIDUALS SELLING THEIR OLD STUFF ONLY

2) This year we are cutting back on the # of tables to allow more room for people to browse. Therefore table prices are going to increase to $53 for a full table (still not to shabby - again 2500+ people came through the door last year). Half tables will be $35.

3) We are ONLY allowing reservations to be made online (we are no longer doing in person "tickets") - it was just way to confusing to keep track and created the biggest most confusing mess ever. Sorry!

If you have any questions - just e-mail us !

Will the money raised by the flea market help enable R5 to actually book a good band?

thanks for the changes to prevent it from becoming a craft fair.... seriously this was annoying me and i was starting to be less excited and telling people about it less....

believing in a DIY ethic does not mean that i'll buy the shitty stuff you make for about 300 times what you paid to make it. the only cool CRAFT shit i ever saw was a guy selling patches who also sold a book on how to make your own.

Uhm, that's the same day as New York Dolls/M.I.A @ Coney Island...which means, no go.
