Spaceboy Music To Close - New Box Office Info

After almost ten years of exsistence, Spaceboy Music is calling it a day. Here is what they have to say :
After about a decade of life on Philadelphia's South Street, Spaceboy Music has decided to retire and close its doors late-September. We will miss the excitement when bands like Notwist, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Sigur Ros, Belle and Sebastian, Espers, RJD2, Sunn)), Jack Rose and Radiohead were new and we could bring them to you. We were always excited to share what we liked with you and were even more excited when you showed us something new.
The world is different. The music industry has changed, technology has changed, South Street has changed. For Spaceboy Music, its time for a change.
Prior to the doors closing, we will be selling the contents of the store with 20% off everything sale starting Saturday 8/26. Everything is for sale. - except Max - although all offers will be considered.
Philadelphia has an amazing collection of independent record stores and we will miss being a part of that community and we will miss you. Please stop in and say goodbye.
As always, thanks for choosing an independent retailer.

As you know - Spaceboy Music has served as our box office for several years. We are in the process of working out the details for two new box office locations. Details should be finalized by week's end. R5 Productions tickets will continued to be sold till the final day of store in September.

damn shame. the music buisness truly sux, as well as people who buy mass marketed crap and put indie shops out of business.
good riddane, spaceboy music was full of pretentious crap and the people who worked there were even more pretentious.
yeah, radiohead and sigur ros arent new, but guess what, weve moved on. radiohead and sigur ros are still around but new bands are thriving that spaceboy records just wouldnt give half a fucking chance, like the aracde fire.
pretentious fucks
I will miss Spaceboy Music. it was one of the few store who kept the independent retail game on in this city after 3rd Street Jazz on Market street closed down all those years ago and The phila Record Exchange stopped selling new releases. Spaceboy had the first indie recordings from Spain I've ever seen in the States from Elefant records) and it will occupy a fond place in my heart. Good luck to the guys who ran it for all these years. Fuck Tower Records and FYE and al those fucking chains. They truly suck.
this is lame as shit.
where the hell am i gonna buy my tickets now? i mean, i know you'll find a new spot.
but i mean, for now? wth, are we all gonna do?
ugh, figure it out soon!
ill miss spaceboymusic.
