THE CARDIGANS To Play The Church ? - Holy Shit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Insanity !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is by far our biggest show announcement of the year (so far!)

Sweden’s second biggest export after flat packed furniture return after a two-year absence with a new album ‘Super Extra Gravity’ - and they'll be playing their smallest most intimate show right here in Philadelphia at The First Unitarian Church. No, that's not a mistake, with likely dates at other "big time" venues such as Irving Plaza and the 9:30 Club - Philadelphia will be the only city to see the band in such a intimate/honest environment.

It’s been nearly ten years since The Cardigans first entered the public’s consciousness with the massively popular single ‘Lovefool’, featured in 'Romeo and Juliet'. The parent album ‘First Band On The Moon’ went on to shift over 2.5 million copies worldwide and - proving that they were no one trick pony - the follow up album ‘Gran Turismo’ released two years later also proved very popular. One more album followed before frontwoman Nina Persson jumpstarted her solo career (which she's been focusing for the last two years) and now The Cardigans will make a rare limited US tour stop here in Philadelphia to celebrate the domestic release of the new album. "A perfect slice of pop flavored indie that recalls their earlier hits"

Tickets are on sale NOW online at r5productions.com, Spaceboy Music (704 South St). or by calling 1-866-468-7619 (toll free). It's best to get them sooner rather than later as again this is their SMALLEST tour stop and Cardigan fans are DIE HARDS....
