No More Advance Tickets For Lady Sovereign !
In case you haven't heard UK's LADY SOVEREIGN signed to Def Jam/Rock-a-fella Recordings yesterday. The signing was completed by the Jigga Man, Jay-Z himself. Once the news hit the internet, everyone and their mother was trying buying tickets to the tiny small Silk City show. To make the show more "fun" and "fair" - we have decided to stop selling advance tickets. There are still PLENTY Of tickets left (over half) but it was obvious that it was going to sell out in advance and we think Silk City isnt the kind of place that should have a sold out show in advance.
So what we are going to do is open doors a hour early at 9pm. If you want to make 100% sure that you get in for the show, just arrive at 9pm and your wish will be granted !

Bull shit. While we were waiting in line (1.5 hours after the doors were supposed to open) Sean came out and let everyone know that the delay was due to Lady Sovereign was crying because she wanted a more powerful (louder) PA. He indicated that the PA was approprate when in reallity it really did sound like shit complete shit. After 1.5 hours of waiting in the cold, and another 1.5 hours of the lame MC's she came out. Proceeded to freaked out (which was entertaining) and left.
In the end no one was refunded and again Sean looks dumb (I know I went to college with him, and folks he ain't to bright).
Thanks for taking my money and trying to set up Lady Sovereign for it. She is a bitch, and you suck. Next time don't blame your mistakes on little 19 year olds.
This show was absurd. Early doors? No. Good PA? No. Artist performs? No. Although the previous commenter didn't lay ay blame on Lady Sov, lemme tell you that any MC worth their salt spits rhymes anyway. How can she go from grimy chav to uberprincess in one night? It didnt take magic, and if this bitch cant handle some sound issues and still flow for a crowd that was eating out of her hand, she will fail miserably.
I think you sold way too many tickets for the Silk City venue. Beyond waiting in line outside even though I had tickets, and the fact that she didn't even play more than one song, the worst part was getting stepped on and pushed constantly because there was NO ROOM to move anywhere. My usually pacifist friend even almost got into a fight over getting tromped upon. That sucked. You should give a free Diplo show to make up for this.
While I understand that there were some legitimate issues with the technology, there's still no excuse for the way that Sov handled the situation. Given the huge number of truly excellent artists that R5 brings to play in Philly, and the glitch-free productions they consistantly put on, Sean and crew certainly get a mulligan on this one. The 'Stamps boys lay the blame for this near-riot squarely at the feet of a prissy little girl who just decided she didn't feel like performing.

Oh and if you check the comments, you'll see an attempt by Sov's management to throw R5 under the bus. Again, total bullshit.
yeah they did the same thing in response to my blog entry.. trying to blame it all on r5
